Hey!
Yes it was so great to talk to you all. I was kinda sad that the connection wasnt too great but its ok. I was just happy to talk to you guys. Man i wanted to talk for longer though. Haha i didnt know how crappy it was gonna be afterward! haha i went and made lunch and i was like wow i really wanna go home now hahaha. But its all good. Im almost back in missionary mode. Probably tonight after pday ends and we go to work ill be a normal missionary again haha. Oh and hey what was that guys name thats coming here to my same mission? And has he already left for the MTC or no? Also im sure that the package will come soon. The mail system here is super crappy. Oh but when you send packages if you send something kinda valuable dont write it on the box where you are supposed to write down everything you are sending. Also you can print out pics of the virgen mary and Jesus and put them on the box and its a better chance that people wont steal stuff.
I dont have a ton to write about cuz we just talked but this last week was just really good. We actually had members helping us out and everything. That has been a struggle in my area. The members havent been a big help. But this week we got some really awesome references and everything and they are looking really promising right now. So we are super excited about that. And we are gonna have a baptism this week! I hope it actually goes through. But im pretty sure it will. Ill be sure to let you guys know how it goes. But hey only 2 more calls and then ill see you guys! The next one in what like 5 months? Something like that. I cant wait. Well i love you guys so much and i hope that you enjoyed Christmas. Hey!
Sorry to hear that you arent feeling too well Mom! Im not either.. My stomach has just been killing me. Im hoping that it lets up soon. But i hope that you feel better soon. This week was pretty slow. But it was alright. On the 7th it was burn the devil day haha. So i bought a paper mache devil and we burned it with some of the youth in our ward haha. It was pretty fun. Almost burnt my shirt! But it didnt happen so its all good haha. So that was fun. But really this week we didnt have much success finding people or anything. But we might have a baptism this week! But im not sure yet. You will know if it happened or not next week haha. Oh and also yesterday we had the opportunity to go to the temple dedication of the temple that they just finished here in Guatemala. We didnt get to go to the temple but we went to the service at the stake center. It was awesome! It was President Uchtdorf who did the dedication. So awesome! And during the cornerstone ceremony Uchtdorf was joking around and what not ahaha it was hilarious. But that was a really really awesome experience. We got to attend 2 of the 3 sessions so we got a double whammy of temple dedication goodness! It was awesome.
I cant believe that Christmas is coming! Pretty crazy stuff. I cant wait. I took some money out of my personal card and did some Christmas shopping today. We got to go to the central market! That place is sweet! They have a bunch of typical Guat stuff and you can barter with the venders so it is super fun! I got some good deals on some stuff ;) I wanna send a package home but im not sure when ill do it. It will probably be around Christmas time. Ill let you know for sure though. Hey!
Tomorrow I am a third of the way done with my mish! What the heck? Crazy right! Haha. And i cant believe its December already. That is just crazy. It makes me pretty homesick sometimes because of all the Christmas stuff. But its all good! I get to talk to you guys in a couple weeks! Woo! And it is actually pretty cold here! Whoever said that its like 70 degrees the whole year is a liar! But its not too bad. Just a little different than what im used to.
Things with my companion are about the same. He is just insane. But i have just been telling myself that i will learn something from him. Its ridiculously hard right now but i know that God knows something that i dont. So im just praying for patience like crazy and hoping that i dont snap haha. But i have just been trying to work hard and not think about my situation. Sometimes it works haha. But we are picking up the area a little bit! We have another baptism date! Her name is Jenifer. Her Mom is a fairly recent convert and she is active and everything. Anyways Jenifer told us that when the missionaries were gonna baptize her mom she was gonna get baptized as well but she always had a reason not to. But her aunt who is a member of our ward as well challenged her to read and pray about the Book of Mormon and she did it and got her answer that it is true. When we taught her therestoration we asked her if she had any questions or doubts and she said no! She said that before she had a lot of doubts but now she knows that it is true. So we are gonna baptize her at the end of next week i think. We are super excited about her! In the picture with the family that i am sending she is the one on the far right. Yeah the pregnant one haha.
Well i am missing you guys a bunch now that Christmas is coming. But hey in like a month ill be able to say that im coming home next year! Hahaha thats kinda depressing but cool at the same time. But itll go by fast. Well i hope that you all have a wonderful week! I love you so much! And you guys should write me! I havent gotten a letter in a loooong time! Haha

Hey!
Well Happy Thanksgiving!... A little late! Haha im glad that you guys had a great day. Here we just had a normal work day. And i ate cereal for my feast hahaha. But it was good. You guys need to take a picture of the temple for me with all the lights and everything! Oh man i love the christmas lights at the temple so much! Im sad ill miss it this year and next year. And its actually�a little cold here too! Haha but its probably a little more over there. But anyways. And thats funny all my friends went over. You should have told them that they are slackers and they need to write me! And im super excited to talk to everyone on Christmas! Woo just like 4 weeks! Something like that..
Well i got my new comp... And i have the WORST luck in the world with companions. His name is Elder Aguilar from Honduras and he is 26.. Oh my goodness. When they said that he is my comp everyone hugged me and said that they are sorry and that i just need to pray a lot. I have had some struggles with my companions. I dont really tell you guys� because i dont like complaining a lot haha i dont want you guys to get depressed from my emails haha. But oh my goodness. It has been 6 days with this guy and i feel like its been months... I dont even know how to explain him. Just incomplete. And he teaches false doctrine every once in a while so i have to be jump in and correct it. Man... Ok thats enough of that haha. But seriously just pray that ill have patience. I thought i was patient before too but oh man. I guess it will help me to be more Christ like. Its just super rough right now. And changes arent until january 4th! Thats a long time away hahaha. But its all good ill live... I think. But we did have some good lessons this week so that was super good. And with Carlos i think we are gonna have his baptism next week. But ill keep you updated on him and everything.
I love you guys so much and im missing you like crazy. Even more now that Christmas is coming and everything. Everyone says the first Christmas is the hardest haha. But its all good. Ill see you guys soon. Love you!

Hey!
Well we know the changes.... and.... I..... dont have a change haha. Just my companion. So im kinda excited about that hahaha im just nervous about who will be my comp. Ive only had one that i still talk to and am cool with haha. But he goes home on wednesday :( haha. But yeah the video wasnt attatched :( She sent an email saying that she thought it sent but it didnt. But im sure she did awesome! I wish i could see it. She will just have to show me when i get home! Haha and thats cool about Craig and his buddies doing a musical number! I wish i had the opportunity to do more before i left. But its all good. Whats up with Livvy? Whats up Sis? Haha and im so glad that Grandma got my letter. I felt so horrible that i forgot to stop by her house before i left. I remembered on the plane... Ha It sucked.
But this week was pretty good! We found another Carlos! Haha i dont think the old one is gonna get baptized but the new one is like 32 years old and he is pretty awesome. I guess the elders before had a baptism date with him but then he left town for a while because his Mom was sick and then she died about a month ago. So we taught him the plan of salvation and testified that he could see his Mom again. Also he has been to church 3 or 4 times so we asked him how he felt about it. He told us that when he was in our church he felt peace and happiness. Like its apart from the rest of the world. And he liked it a lot. So we asked him to be baptized and he said yes! Woo! So we are excited about him. It might be this week but we dont know yet. If he is home we are gonna visit him everyday this week. Also we had stake conference here yesterday! The broadcast was awesome! We heard from Elder Clarke from the seventy, Sister Cook, Elder Holland, and President Uchtorf. It was so awesome. Elder Holland was hilarious. He started speaking spanish and it was horrible! So he made some jokes about it and then started in english and then the translation started haha. But then to end he bore his testimony in spanish. I would imagine that it was hard for everyone to understand with his crazy gringo accent but it was so powerful. Also president Uchtdorf! His talk was so good! He didnt try to speak spanish at all haha. But it was so great to hear their talks.
Well i hope that you guys have a great Thanksgiving. Ill be thinking about you guys Im not sure if ill get to do anything or not but we will see. I hope you guys enjoy it. Tell everyone i say that i love and miss them! Have a great week! Love you guys!

Hey!
I`m glad that you guys got the letter :) I thought it was gonna be like after thanksgiving that you guys would get it but im glad that it came quickly. Im sure that was awesome for Livvy to be in that play. Im sure you did awesome Liv! Haha and you guys should take a video of Liz`s recital and then send it to me in an email! Just with a digital camera. That would be sweet. And Mom! Give Craig permission to wrestle! He`s gotta do it! Haha he is a beast! Thats unfair to the team to take him away haha. (I got your back dude :) ) haha. And i hope that you are feeling better now Mom.
Well this week was a little better than the past few. So we hadnt really been teaching very much because we dont really have anyone to teach. But at the beginning of the week we got to teach a lesson with a less active member. And it was awesome! We just shared a scripture and our thoughts about it and stuff like that. But i felt so good afterward. I had forgotten how good it feels to read the scriptures with someone and share feelings about it. It gave me a well needed boost for the rest of the week. My comp and I were both more motivated to work. So we went and really looked for the opportunity to teach and we found the opportunity a few times haha. It was really awesome. Also i dont know if i told you guys about this guy that we contacted a couple weeks ago, Carlos? Anyways we got a member to come and visit with us and we got to put a day for his baptism! December 3rd. But he wasnt able to come to church yesterday so we are gonna have to push it back a little bit but i think we can get him baptized. So we are gonna work with him a lot this week.
And yeah changes are about a week away. Next wednesday. And my first and second companions that i had are both going home haha. They call me sometimes and all they talk about is going home haha. It drives me insane because i still have such a long way to go! Haha but its ok. Im gonna be excited too when my time comes. But no we dont know who has a change. We will know this coming sunday. But this lady in our area that we visit every single day because she is awesome told us that if one of us has a change that she doesnt want us to come to say goodbye. She has had the missionaries come and visit her for more than 25 years! Crazy stuff. And she said that twice she has cried for missionaries when they left and if we come to say goodbye she said that she will cry. Man, this lady is my favorite. Its that lady in the picture that i sent last week. Sister Paiz is her name. Its crazy how fast i come to love people here. When i left my last area it was super hard because i love all those people. And when i leave here its gonna be the same. This area that im in right now is super hard but the awesome people here make it worth it to be here. Saying goodbye to them is almost like saying goodbye to you guys when i left! Its pretty rough. But im gonna keep in contact with them so its all good :)

Hey!
Sounds like everyone is enjoying life. Thats crazy it actually rained over there! Haha for a while it was raining every day here but i think rain season ended thank goodness! Haha Its pretty warm here right now. I thought it would cool down a little bit but nope! But its better than the cold. Anyways this week nothing really happened. My area is still going super slow and my comp is crazy. But its ok! We have changes in about 2 weeks. I just need to pray for patience with this guy for 2 more weeks! And then its possible another 6... But i dont think so haha. But we did contact a guy about a week ago and we gave him a Book of Mormon and we told him we would stop by his house when we could. So we went and he was outside so we just talked to him for a few minutes. He didnt have time at the moment but he said that he had been reading the Book of Mormon and he said it was muy bonito! Haha So we invited him to church but he couldnt come yesterday but he said that he will come next week. So we will see what happens with him. Also yesterday was testimony meeting and it was awesome! When i woke up yesterday i didnt wanna go to church very much. I was super tired and it was a little cold in the morning and we have to walk forever to get to the church. A lot of it is uphill... So i didnt want to go. But we went of course and when the meeting started i forgot how tired i was and all the reasons that i didnt wanna be there. It was just an awesome meeting. All the testimonies were super good. And i was sitting there fighting with myself trying to make myself get up. So i fought it for a while but then i won the fight over my fears and i got up and bore my testimony haha. I think it went alright. I was super nervous though haha and after i had finished and i sat down i was thinking and i couldnt remember what the heck i said haha.� Anyways church was awesome yesterday. And it was my 7 month mark so that was pretty sweet haha. Its weird to think that havent seen you guys for 7 months haha. But there is a kid here in my district that has less time than me! Its pretty sweet knowing that im going home before someone ;) haha well i love you guys and miss you. Ill see you soon! Have a great week.

Hey!
Im sorry you got sick Mom and i hope that you feel better! I was feely kinda crappy saturday night and sunday too. But it was my stomach. Sometimes i gotta eat some iffy things here haha. But sounds like everyone had fun this week! Happy Halloween! Here i think its just halloween.. But its not a happy holiday here. But i havent really heard anything about it. Its not that big of a deal here.� And who is Jaime? A friend of craigs? Haha and what dad said about the double date! Hahaha are you gonna take girls? Hahaha thats hilarious. And im sorry to hear about Bro Sorenson. Yes i remember who he is. Remember he gave me the $100 bill after i got my mission call. He was a super nice guy. Im sorry to hear that he passed away. But he is with his wife now and he is happier. Its so awesome we have the wonderful plan of happiness! :)
Well my wrist is still hurting about the same. I have just been dealing with it though. We will see how it feels in a few weeks. But the doctor said be careful with it for two weeks. Its been two weeks haha. We will just have to see. And the work... Yep its still really slow. Its just that our area is super small and nobody wants to hear from us. But we did have a really good acitivity last week with our district. They all came to our area and we went up to the market and set up a table with books of mormon and a bunch of stuff and we contacted families. It went really well and i think its gonna help the work here in our area. We have a ton of reference cards that we got filled out. So this week we are gonna go and find all these people. So hopefully we get some new investigators from it. But yeah things are going good. Oh! So i called my old comp last night and he told me about this other elder (who i am friends with) and how is dad died. Oh man i felt so horrible! I called him to see how he was doing and he was taking it alright but he was super sad. He started to cry a little on the phone and everything. He is going home today to Ohio to go to the funreal and all that and then he is coming back on friday. I told him i would keep his family in my prayers. So if you guys could pray for the Tolley family it would be awesome. This Elder is so awesome. He is the nicest guy ever. so yeah just pray for them. Oh and i got a letter from Liz this week! And im writing letters for you guys! I hope i can get them off this week. Well i love you guys and hope you have a wonderful week! See ya soon!

Hey!
Well my wrist is doing ok. It still hurts a ton! It was just so stupid haha we were playing soccer last week and it started to rain and we just kept playing and i was going for the ball and it was going out of bounds so i got it and tried to slow down but then i slipped and went down. Woo it killed!� But i didnt want to tell anyone because i was scared! So i emailed you haha. Let me tell you, it scared the crap out of me when i saw President Watts on the caller id haha then he said my Mom called him... Haha oh geez. But then i went to the doctor and they took an xray. The bone is still fractured but it looked a little better to me than it did when i first left. The doctor also said that when i first broke it i also fractured my radius and it healed before i went to the doctor but now it is healed at a bad angle and thats why i cant bend it back or anything like that. I dont know, I have a hard time believing that the doctor Thomas missed that. So i dont know. But yeah i have accepted that my wrist is just gonna hurt for my whole mission and probably my whole life haha. But its ok, I was reading in the scrips where it says that when we are resurrected that our bodies will be restored to their whole and perfect state. So its all good! One day my wrist will be better! Haha
Other than that my week was pretty alright. Not much happened. My new area is really slow. We only have like one or two investigators so we dont get too many lessons are anything. We pretty much just contact a ton. And nobody seems to want anything! Its pretty rough. But its ok. We are gonna pick it up somehow. And about my comp, well everyone has told me about him and not everything is good. But i decided to not pay attention to what anyone says and just find out for myself how he is. So far things are good! He is pretty cool. At times i wanna tackle him from behind and make him cry but thats not very often ;) hahaha. And it has definately helped my spanish already. Woo its crazy not really speaking much english. But i like it. Its pretty fun. Even my dreams are in spanish now! Yeah when people told me that they had dreams in spanish i was like what the heck thats so crazy! But now its just normal haha. But yeah its fun stuff.
But thats my week! Nothing too exciting. Thats crazy that Butch is home! I remember when he left. Doesnt seem like that long ago. But sounds like everyone is doing good and everything. That makes me happy! I think i might get something for you guys for christmas today. Im gonna go see if i can find what im looking for haha. October 10, 2011: First Baptism and hit 6 months this week!

Hey! Well how is everyone? Sounds like everyone is enjoying life. Well me too haha. This week was fast but super good! First on thursday i hit six months! It was super cool haha but crazy. We bought pizza to celebrate haha. Then on friday we had the baptismal interview for Armando that went super well. And on saturday we baptized him! Woo! My first baptism! It was the best thing ever. And i had the opportunity to do the baptism. Man all the work and waiting and disappointment was worth it. It was so awesome. It was just a really small service but it was so great. And i got to bear my testimony about baptism and everything. And then on sunday we confirmed him in sacrament. The bishop did that. Then in priesthood meeting this less active kid we have been helping to get reactivated received the aaronic priesthood! He is also a friend of Armandos. So we were in the circle for that. And then he got to be in the circle to confer the priesthood to Armando. It was super cool. And when the bishop asked him who he wanted to confer the priesthood to him he said Elder Gunnell! Oh man i was honored but i didnt really want to because i didnt know how! AND it was in spanish of course.. Oh man i was scared as heck! But i did it and i think it went alright. I think i kinda panicked so i dont even remember what i said in the blessing haha. But it was super cool that he was able to get baptized and confirmed and then receive the priesthood. Oh man it was awesome. And yes I have a change! I am leaving my first area! I am really sad though. I have been here for 4 and a half months and i love it and i love the people. But i guess it is time to go. Im excited though. Im nervous where ill go and who my comp will be but its all good. I kinda hope that i get a native comp so my spanish will get better faster. But we will see. I find out on wednesday where im going and who my comp is so ill be sure to let you guys know. Oh and by the way i got that sheet music you guys sent me. Thanks! Its awesome haha. Hey! I cant believe that this week is over! It is so crazy! Woo! And oh yeah, my 6th month mark on thursday! Now that is crazy! I cant believe it haha. Im gonna buy some pizza or something to celebrate haha. And my comp goes home next month... I hear all about that all the time. I dont wanna hear about going home! I feel like its still my first week in the mission! Haha but anyways. Sounds like everyone is doing good! Liz tearing it up on the piano. Oh! I have been working on my improv on the piano! Liz you were right, it does get easier after you do it for a while even if at first it sounds stupid haha. And Craig and the guitar! That is awesome! What songs is he learning? And thats my bro! Growing that facial hair! Thats what i like to hear! Haha. And Livvy which Luke you talking about? The one from Westwood? If so he is a cool guy and i wouldnt kill him hahahaha. You need to write me! I dont even know what you are up to ya little punk! Haha. But its ok i still love you.
Yeah I wondered why i didnt see Ron in the choir! But thats good he will go back. Thats one of the highlights of watching conference haha searching him out haha. But oh my goodness conference was awesome! In the mission it is so much better too! I took a ton of notes... Oh man. But it was just so good. Everyone says that in the mission its like a party or a vacation. And they are right! Its like both haha its so fun. I cant wait for the next one. And on the next one ill have one year in the mission! Woo thats crazy to think about. I hope you all enjoyed conference as much as i did! And i hope yall didnt sleep too much ;) haha
And we have 2 baptisms this saturday! They arent the 2 girl flakes so i think that they will actually happen. One is Armando, he came to conference on sunday and watched both sessions with us so that was really good. And he is really excited to get baptized. and im really excited to baptize him! Itll be my first baptism. Im looking forward to it and ill be sure to send you guys pictures ;) haha. Well i gotta go but i love you guys so much and i hope to hear from you guys soon. Hey! Well first off. Once again, we didnt have our baptism. This is seriously killing me! Driving me insane! This time their dad told them that they had been dancing inappropriately at the quincinera so they were unworthy to be baptized or they just shouldnt or something like that. But we were there and they werent dancing in any way that was wrong or anything. Its just their dad, he is kinda against them getting baptized.. But we arent giving up. I really hope that i can see them get baptized. We have been busting our butts to help them and to see that would just make it all worth it. Its gonna happen! Other than that, my comp is at a total of two showers now! Woo! Aint that somethin. What a good smelling guy. I got a couple letters this week! I got one from Dad and Liz i think. It was nice to hear from you guys and its good to hear that you got my letters! Hope you emjoyed them. Oh and i wrote the Sells a letter! So hopefully that gets to them soon. But this week was pretty uneventful. I got sick again... Super fun haha. I think my stomach is just getting used to all this weird food and the culture. So hopefully it gets accustomed soon so i dont poop all my insides out haha. But it really rained in Mesa?? Wow! Haha im actually getting sick of the rain! I never thought i would say that again! On friday it poured so dang hard! I was in the bathroom (our bathroom is like outside and the door doesnt shut all the way) and it started and i was getting hit with hail as im sitting there and i was screaming hahahaha. It was pretty fun... Hahaha. Well Liz, good luck with your new piano teacher! You will have to write me and let me know how it is! And Craig with guitar! Thats sweet! I wish Aunt Becky taught me more so i could do better at teaching myself haha. Do work man! And Livvy, maybe you will find a job where you could give your bro free stuff when he gets home ;) Hahah just kidding but you need to write me! Let me know whats going on! Hey! Yeah i definately wish that i used cursive back in the day! Youre right... I never should have started printing.. Haha But im glad that everyone got the letters and enjoyed them. And Mom, you are hilarious! I laughed so hard about you saying that there are no cuss words in that paragraph hahahahaaha. That brightened my day hahaha. And yeah tell liz im jealous of her piano skills...i play a lot here and it would be awesome to be that ballin hahaha. But im excited to see how much better she gets when i get home. And Livvy, Yeah you crazy girl just have fun and enjoy your senior year! So im glad to hear you are quitting your job haha. But just remember to drink lots of water and dont overdo yourself in sports like you seem to in life. And Craig! Hahahahahahahahaha That was probably the funniest thing i have ever heard! I give you mad props for mooning mom ;) Hahahaha i love you dude. I cant wait to get back and hang out with all of you. And have fun with Sarah in town! Man i wish i could be there but its ok haha. Well this week was pretty iffy..... Some good and some bad.. Ill start with the good! Ok so i got the package! Thankyou so much. You dont know how good american candy is when you have been in guat for a while haha. So thanks so much! And now some bad... My camera got stolen... I am ridiculously angry! It was during a baptism and it was in the church! I wanted to kill someone! I had a bunch of awesome pics on there that i wanted to send home too. But now all that is gone.. But whatever. So just if you could put some money on my card so i can buy a new one. Im sorry to have to ask you guys for that. Man it was such a bad time cuz there is some other stuff that i wanted to buy for you guys but now ill have to wait for a while. Anyways. But yeah about changes. Im staying in my same area which im really excited about and im also getting a new comp which i am really scared about haha. So we will find out on wednesday who he is so ill let you know. But things are getting a lot better now. Im starting to feel a lot more comfortable with spanish and teaching so im really excited. Im finally getting to where i can speak pretty well. And we have 2 baptisms this saturday! But i have said that before so we will see. But yeah just something i wanna say. The mission is not anything like what i expected. In a bad way. Actually i should say missionaries. It is so ridiculous how many missionaries have no regard for rules or anything. There is so much drama with missionaries and other missionaries and also with girls! Its crazy how many times i have heard about elders kissing girls and all that crap. It makes me so dang mad! Yeah we are here to baptize people and help them but we are also here to help ourselves become better people. And that crap is not helping them to become better people. It makes me so mad! So i just want to promise that i will be the missionary that you think i will be. And not have anything to do with any of that crap! Anyways thats all i wanted to say. Just vent a little. I was pretty angry haha. But i gotta go. I love you guys and i hope to hear from you soon. Dad thanks for emailing too! I loved reading it! Hey! Haha about the water heater... It still worked after it got burned but now something else is wrong with it and we take freezing showers again :( haha but its ok. It wakes me up in the morning haha. But you know, i am kinda hoping for a change. Well i hope my comp gets changed and i stay here. I really like our area and we have a few people that are gonna get baptized right after changes. Changes are on the 31st of this month. And we will know on sunday who has a change. So i am nervous! Haha. Oh and the package hasnt come yet. But ill let you know as soon as it does. Thanks again for sending it. You are a peach hahaha. Well this week was super uneventful! We had like nothing happen! It was just pretty normal. We did go on divisions again. I went with an elder from california, his name is Elder Anderson. He is my favorite! He only has a month more than me in the mission so neither one of us is super good at spanish but we can both talk pretty alright. So it was super fun going with him and having a somewhat hard time talking to everyone haha and he is just hilarious so that made it even more awesome. But yeah it was fun. We didnt sleep much though... Haha when it was time for bed we layed down and started talking but we talked for a little too long and then got hungry so we made grilled cheese sandwiches at like 1 in the morning... We definately regretted it the next day haha. But it was fun. We did find a bunch of new investigators in our area this last week. We found this one family that is catholic but they are super nice and pretty receptive to what we have to say. So they are looking like a really good possibility. We are gonna have some members that used to be catholic help us teach them. We will get them in the water before you know it ;) haha. Well sounds like everyone is having a ton of fun in school! Wow i miss you guys like crazy! Oh and i got letters from you guys this week. I got one from the chub and one from liz and livvy and maybe one from dad, I dont remember right now haha. Hey! Sounds like everyone is having fun still haha. School starts soon huh? That is crazy how fast the summer went haha. But yeah it was a crazy experience on the bus haha. But that is so awesome about Liz and her blessing! It really is such a blessing. Ive been reading mine a lot lately and i see the blessng that it is. So im excited for her. But yeah some bad news.. Our baptism fell through again. She is still having some problems. So im just gonna stop telling you guys i have a baptism till it actually happens haha. It is pretty discouraging though. This week we had a total of 7 baptismal dates. And almost all of them said they dont wanna get baptized anymore. It really bummed me out cuz i havent had one baptism yet. But i know its ok and we will have one soon. We were pretty bummed on saturday cuz thats when it happened but then we had been praying and fasting for help and on sunday we had 8 investigators come to church! So that was so awesome. And this one guy Mario is awesome! I saw him skating a while ago so i contacted him after skating with him for a few minutes and we have been teaching him a lot lately. He says he has no doubts about anything we are teaching him. So we invited him to be baptized and he said yes for the 27 of this month! So we are excited about him and really hoping that he will be able to. But he needs to get married cuz he lives with his girl and they have 2 kids... So we are working with them on that. We asked him if he would follow the law of chastity and he said yes, and that if he didnt follow it he would be breaking a commandment. So we were like heck yes! This guy is awesome! But anyways yeah he is our best possibility right now. So yeah! Haha oh and i hit 4 months the other day! Crazy right? haha. Hey Craig you said you have the music for colder weather! You should make a copy and send it to me :) Love you dude and i miss you. I hope your knee is ok so you can wrestle and redeem your brother by taking state ;) haha. And Liz and Livvy, you guys excited you are seniors?! That is so crazy! I hope you guys have a ton of fun. And Mom and Dad I love you guys! Hey! It sounds like you had a fun time in Utah! Im jealous haha. Except the weather is probably better here ;) haha. Anyways.. Yeah the baptism fell through again... She just did something that she wasnt proud of so she wanted to wait a week. What she did didnt disqualify her but she just wanted to try and make things better. I guess ill tell you what she did haha... She got in a fight with a girl at school that stole her phone and she beat her up pretty good. So she felt really bad. But she really has a desire to be baptized and she said she will this saturday. So we are really hoping it really happens this time and nothing goes wrong. But other than that things are going good. Oh haha the other day i was one divisions with the zone leader and we were in my area but we had to go to another area to do an interview and on the way back at night we were trying to find a bus. So we found one and there were all these crazy people on it and they were like we arent working! But where are you guys headed? And it happened to be on the way so they took us with them. When we got on we were like crap this was a mistake.. There were like 6 people on the bus and they were all drinking and smoking. And there was this drunk girl dancing up front. It was insane! Anyways so we prayed that it would all be alright. So then we get to where we are gonna get off and we go to pay and they were all like it doesnt cost anything.. Just a kiss! You both have to kiss the girl! And then the girl was like yeah kiss me! And the other elder i was like shoot! And just hopped off the bus. And i didnt really understand what they said cuz it was super loud. And i was like give you a what? And then i turn around and this drunk girl is all puckered up and ready to go and im like oh freak! She said a kiss! So i ran to the door and jumped out. Hahahaha! Then we were like what the heck just happened?? Then we just died laughing. And then when we got home a little later our five gallon bottle of water exploded and flooded our house. hahaha What a blessing right? Hahaha it was a hilarious day. So that was super fun. Anyways that was probably the highlight of my week hahaha. Everything is going awesome though. Spanish is getting easier and easier everyday. Im starting to love it so much. But yeah i hope all of you are doing super good. I love you all and i hope to hear from you soon! Oh and this computer sucks so i cant send pictures today but ill try next week.

Hey! Sounds like everyone is having fun in Utah! Im kinda bummed i cant be there but whatever, thats life haha. Tell everyone I said hi! And thats crazy im in Julios old stake in limòn! That is insane. Its a small world. But thats super cool! But yeah tell Ron and Kaye and Kristen and Lauren and Natilyn that i say hi. Oh and we were at an investigators house the other night and they turned it to the byu channel and motab was on and i saw Ron like 5 or six times! That was pretty cool. But yeah anyways. Things are going good! We have 2 baptisms this week so we are super excited. Hopefully nothing falls through and they actually happen. But we are having their baptism interviews in the next couple days so we will see what happens. Oh and yesterday my comp and i had to give talks in sacrament meeting! When i found out early in the week i was like crap im screwed! But i prepared it and it ended up going really well. Its kinda funny that talk was the least scary talk ever! Like while i was talking i wasnt nervous at all haha i joked a little bit too so that was good ;) haha but im glad its over now. Oh and after church we went to this old ladys house and she fed us.. I thought i was gonna explode! She gave us so much food! Some of it was good but some of it not so much haha. She gave us some kind of meat that was the fattiest meat ever. It was kinda gross too haha. But it was ok. But i thought i was gonna die haha. Then after that we went fell asleep while reading hahaha. So it was a good day. Oh but today i finished the book of Alma! Im pretty excited! It took forever but i loved it. Those are my favorite stories now. But yeah im gonna try and finish the book of mormon before the end of this change. Which is in about 5 weeks. Around the end of August. So im excited about that. I wrote a letter to Livvy today too! I havent sent the one to Craig that i wrote last week yet though. I think i might write one or two more before i send them. We will see. Sorry its been a while since you all have gotten letters from me. Im always sooo busy and then the mail system sucks. But hopefully you guys get something soon. Also I have some things that i got for everybody. I think i might wait more till christmas time to send it all though. But anyways i gotta go. Hey! Glad to hear this last week was more exciting! Last week i was falling asleep reading it! Hahaha just kidding. But sounds like everyone is enjoying the summer time so thats good. Oh and my new presidents name is pres Watts! He is from Utah and a really nice guy so we are all excited. But its crazy! It rains every day! I like it on one hand but it sucks cuz we gotta work in it! Haha but its fun. Oh and i took out some money today cuz i needed to buy some shoes. One of my pairs of shoes is tearing up my feet so i got some new ones that will hopefully be better. But wow! Today i am sick as crap.. Haha i am not feeling good at all. When we left the house this morning i felt ok but as the day went on i started feeling sick. And after lunch we got on a bus to come use internet and the buses here are always packed to the max! Like hardly even standing room. And i freaking threw up! I was just holding it in my mouth and luckily it stopped like right then so i pushed through everyone and got off and spit it out and heaved pretty good and got more out and then the bus started going so i just jumped on and grabbed on the little handle thing and was completely out of the bus! Haha it was crazy! Then we stopped at some other elders house and i threw up some more and just rested. Now im here and trying to hurry cuz i feel pretty crappy still! haha anyways so im sorry this is a crappy email! But about that family... Yeah i think that their marriage might be ending soon. And it is soooo sad. It just breaks my heart. They have two kids that are super young and it just breaks my heart that they are probably gonna have to deal with separated parents. Its just so sad. But we have been visiting and teaching them more about families and trying to help them out. But we will see how it turns out. All we can really do is teach them and pray. Which is exactly what we have been doing. But on the bright side! We have a baptism next week! My first one! So we are super excited! Man i cant wait. Her name is Maryelsi. Actually we are having 2 the same day. The others name is Jenifer. So yeah we are teaching them and preparing them for that. But things are good! I gotta go. Thanks for writing every week! Happy 4th of July! Haha its crazy huh! I feel sorry for you guys you are cookin over there in mesa hahaha. It feels so nice here all the time! Right now its cloudy and like 80 degrees probably. It feels amazing haha. Anyways im glad to hear that everyone is doing good! You all should write me! Haha I love hearing from you all. Anyways this week was pretty good. We found 14 new investigators... Holy crap it is crazy! We have so much work to do all the time. We dont have enough time to get everything done! I swear at the end of each day i feel like im about to die cuz im so tired! But its fun haha. We found this one guy, his name is Marvin. He lived in the us for a while and he speaks really good english! So its pretty sweet. But he is so awesome! He has so many questions for us! Its pretty awesome. We taught him a little bit about eternal families and he said oh i like this! Haha and last night we read from the book of Alma with him and he said that he believes it all. Its so awesome! And we are gonna try and put a baptism date with him in the next couple days. So we are pretty excited about that. We do have a bunch of crazy kids as investigators.. We asked 7 of them yesterday if they would follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized and they all said no! Its just frustrating cuz it seems like they just come cuz we always have a good time at activities and stuff. Man... We will see how it goes this week. Even if they dont get baptized now but they do later in their life thats good. We are doing our job right now and its up to them to accept it or not! But anyways haha. But whats everyone doing for the 4th? We had a little activity at the church! All the gringos haha. It was fun we played ultimate frisbee and football a little bit. So it was super fun. Oh! And we met our new mission pres! We met him 2 days ago i think? anyways he is super cool! Im really excited. He is super nice and just a cool guy! So we are all really excited about him ahaha. Hey! Sorry i didnt write yesterday. I think every 12 weeks or so we go to the temple so we went today. So today is my pday this week but itll be normal next week. But sounds like everyone is doing great! And yes we just go to internet cafes haha its alright i guess haha. I got a bunch of letters from all of you this past week! It was so awesome. So thanks for writing me! I love getting letters from all of you. But hmmm this week has been pretty good. Not much new haha pretty much the same as last week haha. But we did get rained on pretty good haha. We were in an other area for our district meeting and it started pouring like freakin crazy! It was insane! My comp and i didnt have umabrellas so we just decided to walk home in the pouring rain haha it was fun and we got soaked as all heck. But when we were about halfway a taxi picked us up for free so that was pretty nice. Tender mercies of the Lord we get a lot of those everyday as missionaries. Its just amazing. This week we have taught 2 of those 7th day crazy people that think that sat. is supposed to be the day of rest and they just straight up rejected the Book of Mormon. It made my comp and i so mad that they just said that it wasnt the word of God and it was not as good as the Bible and all this crap. We kept our cool though and just testified that it really is the word of God and that it is true. Then yesterday during my study time it just hit me super hard. The church is true. It was crazy. Like ive always known but it just all clicked so much more clearly in my mind. It just all made sense. Like everything! The Church is organized exactly the same as it was when Jesus was on the earth. We have 12 apostles, the priesthood, and a prophet. And we have the plan of salvation. Its all so clear to me. Im just super stoked how much testimony grew yesterday! Haha it makes it so much easier to testify when i really really know and understand. Even if it is in spanish hahaha. But anyways thats pretty much my week ahah. Nothing new with investigators. Actually we did find like 9 new investigators this week so that was pretty dang awesome haha. But i gotta go! I love all of you and cant wait to hear from you all. Miss yall! Hey! Thanks for your email i loved it! It was really awesome to hear from you. Tell Sarah Im so sorry! And i will write her as soon as possible. I didnt remember where i put her address so thanks for sending it again. But this last week has been pretty crazy. We decided to drop some of our investigators cuz they werent really in it for the gospel, they just liked coming to activities and stuff. We asked them to be baptized and they flat out said no. So we will continue to be their friends but we arent gonna keep putting appointments with them. Cuz we have a few that are really progressing and feeling the spirit when we teach them and they wanna be baptized so we are trying to focus on them more. It sucks though, our best investigators are having some problems. We have baptismal dates with this lady and 3 of her children but the dad doesnt want to get baptized and doesnt really support her in it. And also they arent married. And he doesnt really wanna get married. I dont know whats up with that. But we are just having faith that we can get it all resolved before the baptismal date next month. Also another thing we are working on! There is this family that got baptized about a year ago and they are a little less active and we are trying to get them reactivated and to the temple. So we talked about eternal families. And they said they dont wanna get sealed and that they dont love each other! What in the heck? It blew my mind! Why would they be married and have a family if they dont love each other? Its just a hard situation. But they are a really nice family! I enjoy visiting with them. But yeah things are great! Oh! You all better not take things for granted! It is so crazy how differently we live and how much better we have it. Its crazy to see how humble these people live and how they are happy with what they have even though its next to nothing. So � � � just thank the Lord for how blessed we are. Coming here and seeing the difference has definately changed my perspective. Also! Yall better be reading your scrips and praying everyday! It is crazy how much my testimony of the Book of Mormon and of prayer have been strengthened. Its just super important! Its definately blessed me so much already. So i encourage you all to start if you havent already! Haha. Oh and actually i can email Sarah if she emails me! So you can tell her to. But anyways i gotta go. I love you all so much! June 13, 2011: First Week Out in the Field

Hola!
Well Monday is my pday now! Thanks for your email today. I really enjoyed it. But Yeah this last week was my first week in the field! Pretty intense stuff. Im assigned to the area of Limòn in the capital. Its pretty cool. My companion is Elder Ziemann from Illinois. He is way cool so thats good too haha. But my first week has been really good. We are both new to this area so we didnt know what to do at first but we have like 20 investigators! No joke! We have sooo much haha. We also had 8 investigators attend church so that was way awesome. Then in sunday school we taught them lesson 1. That went really well. We have i think 4 baptismal dates set too. I think 3 for the beginning of next month and another for september. So that is super exciting! But one of the days i went on splits and i was with the zone leader and one of his investigators speaks english! So i got to teach a lesson and actually say a lot of stuff! Haha this guy was awesome though. He is so ready to change his life for the better. It was so awesome to see. He has had it rough. He graduated from USC and was a succesful guy and then he lost everything and got deported. But he isnt crying about it or anything. He also keeps saying he knows that God sent us to teach him for a reason and that he feels good when he talks to us. So that was really wonderful to teach him and see his faith that he has. Also its crazy! I have given so many blessings! Its insane! At least one a day and sometimes more. I usually annoint but the other day my companion threw me under the bus! He said he would help me so i sealed the annointing and then he was like go for it! What the heck? haha this lady seemed like she was in some pain and then there is me this white boy that hardly speaks any spanish having to give her a blessing. So i just went for it and it went alright! I could tell that she felt the Spirit and that it gave her comfort. So that was also a really good experience. But other than that we pretty much just walk around all day and visit members and teach some investigators. There is so much work that we have to do so we dont do too much contacting but we do some. So yeah im super busy and super sore! My area is like 4 huge hills! It seems like no matter which way we go we are going uphill! I dont know how it works but whatever. All i know is my legs are getting big! I put on my jeans today and they were super tight! Its like im losing weight on my stomach from not very much eating and a ton of walking and then my legs are getting stacked! Its kinda crazy.
But im really glad to hear everyone is doing good and enjoyed the letters. And Craig landing on his head... Psssh! Haha i know how that feels dude! Just suck it up and do another one ;) haha but i love you all so much. Im missing all of you. I cant wait to see all of you in like 22 months! Well actually a little less than 22 months hahaha. Oh well it doesnt matter. I hope to hear from all of you really soon. Love you guys!

Hey! I have email today cuz im leaving for the field early tomorrow morning. So im glad this time i had an email on here waiting for me! Haha i didnt get to read all of it but it sounds like everyone is having fun. hahaha I laughed at what craig said! in spanish and in the car haha. Youre a goof dude! But hmm i dont really know what to say in this email! Not much has happened this week! Every week is the exact same here! Its pretty lame. But tomorrow my mission really starts and im sure the emails will get more exciting haha. Oh and about the sonpopos! No i didnt taste it for that long haha. I didnt think that i would eat them but i decided to go for it and they were really good! Very surprising hahaha. But anyways i gotta go finish packing still :( Im actually sad to leave here! Hey! Im doing really good! Spanish is getting easier and im having fun. Its crazy! This is my last week in the ccm and then im in the field! Its so darn crazy! So when that happens my emails will get more exciting haha. My days are pretty much always the same here. Except this week was pretty good! So in may in guatemala i guess these huge ant things come. They are called sonpopos. Anyways we were catching them and stuff during a service project and then a worker said that we could eat them. So we caught a ton of them and asked the cooks to cook them for us. So my companions and i ate ants for breakfast the other day! They were actually way good! They kinda tasted like peanuts. Seriously haha who would have ever thought i would eat ants haha i never thought i would haha. Oh and yesterday we got to go proselyting at the park again. It was better than the first time! I understood more this time and said a little more. We made 5 appointments too! So that was definately good. But things here are pretty awesome. I love my campanions! They are all super cool. One of them skates too so thats cool we have that in common and everyting. And we always laugh hahahaha i dont think i have ever laughed so hard in my life haha. Its so hilarious! So im definately having fun. I hope my companion in the field is cool too. But its crazy i have less than a week left! Im getting pretty nervous. But excited. So yeah thats pretty much my week haha. I wrote all of you today and mom on her birthday so you guys should be getting those sometime soon hopefully. Happy late birthday mom! i love you. Hola! Sorry i dont have time to read the email and then reply to it! So ill just write and tell you about my week! So i got a couple letters yesterday which was way good! I got one from Dad, Liz, and Summer. So those are the only ones i have gotten from the family i have gotten 3 from Summer so yeah its good! Thanks for writing me. Also i love the emails you send mom so thankyou. This last week has been so long! It is getting more crazy now! Now my district is the oldest in the ccm so we are expected to ALWAYS be speaking spanish. Its pretty crazy. But its good because i can tell im picking up on it a ton. If i sit there and think about something i can pretty much say whatever i want. So its way cool. I also had a dream that was in partial spanish! That means im defnately picking it up! So im excited. Oh and i did a temple session in complete spanish last week! It was crazy! I actually understood a lot though. But the guy i had at the veil spoke only spanish and had no teeth so i had no clue what the heck was goin on! It was crazy! But it was a good experience. Oh and i go into the field in 2 weeks! Its crazy! And i have almost been out for 2 months! In like 2 weeks or so itll be 2 months. Time is actually going really fast! Its pretty crazy! Sorry i dont know what else to say! I wrote a letter to the family that ill send today so that took all my thoughts haha sorry. Oh but yeah i did go get my eyes checked and im getting my glasses tomorrow. Hola! So this week is a weird week so thats why im emailing today. its just for this week. itll be wednesday for the next 3 weeks. How is everyone doing? good i hope. So today was probably the most fun day of my mission. We got to get out of the ccm and class and we went to this topogrophical map of guatemala and see the land features and everything. it was way cool. We also went to this market where they sell super cheap stuff. So i got some stuff for almost everyone of you :) im not sure when ill be able to send it so we will just have to wait and see. And after that we went to the mall and got to eat fast food! Mcdonalds never tasted so good in my life haha. It was awesome. And then we got to go to this super cool museum where we got to see a bunch of different cultural guatemalan things. It was way cool. Ill write a letter telling you all more. i dont have too much time to email haha. Anyways just a couple other things i gotta mention.. My eye sight isnt very good anymore! From where i sit in the classroom i cant read the board. One of the elders lets me borrow his glasses sometimes so i cant read it. So i am gonna see if i can go get some glasses of my own so i can actually see better. Just letting you know incase i gotta pay with my card. I wouldnt get them unless i need them and i do! And for some worse news.... i got made district leader :( nooooo! i was pretty bummed. I just found out today. Im not excited for some reason haha. just thought yall would wanna know. Sorry i havent sent any letters in a while. ill be sure to send some soon. probably at the beginning of next week it might be better if you are sending anything to just send it to my mission home cuz it takes a while to get here. Hey Family! I dont have time to read your email and then reply so im just gonna print it off and read it later. It was so awesome to talk to you all on Sunday! It was so great to hear everyone is doing well and that Mom and Dad had fun on their trip! I wanna see some pictures from it if possible! So on monday we went to this central park and we did some proselyting. It was insane! The latino that i was placed with spoke no english so it was rough. But we did really good. We both gave our Books of Mormon away and also some pamphlets. Everyone we talked to seemed super nice. Its funny how in the Stated people get annoyed when missionaries talk to them. But here people seem happy to talk to us! It was a super good experience though. I cant wait till i can communicate better. Its pretty hard. My comp did most of the talking but i threw in a little testimony here and there haha. Other than that not much has gone on. Its the same thing everyday.. We get up at 630 work out or play soccer and then sit in a classroom ALL DAY. Its just sooo fun... haha. Oh but i was out of cash so i took a little money out of my account. At the atm here it only gives us quetz.. Guatemala money. And i think its like 7.5 quetz to 1 dollar. So ill probably take a little more out soon just to have cash to be safe. Just letting you know. Thanks i appreciate it. Well i love you all so much! I hope everyone is doing good. Oh and did you guys say you have sent letters? I havent gotten any letters since i have gotten here :( haha its all good. But you can write me on Dear Elder as well. But anyways i gotta go! I love you all!

First day!

Today: 6 April 2011, is the first day of Morgan's mission. He left home at 5:15AM and caught a 7:15 flight to SLC. His sister, Sarah and her husband, Tyler, picked him up, took him to lunch and delivered him safely to the MTC. He will be in the Provo MTC for 3 weeks before heading to Guatemala for 6 more weeks of training. Here is his contact information:
